Benefits To Working From Home For Colleagues

Over the past year, nearly 18 months now, the entire globe has been affected in one way or another by the global pandemic caused by Covid-19. This has forced a lot of us to alter our lives and how we are living them, with many of us being forced into lockdown to combat the spread of the virus freely around the world. During these lockdown times, many office workers have been forced to work from home, but what have been the benefits to working from home for these colleagues?

One of the main benefits that colleagues have been noticing whilst working from home has been the fact that colleagues have been able to save money during their period of working from home. This has been possible through multiple different avenues, but mainly down to the fact there hasn’t been any commuting costs. Commuting is something that can be rather expensive, whether that be petrol costs, train fares, taxi fares, and any other costs in which you incur whilst travelling to and from work. Not only that, but you can also save money on lunches as you are able to eat from home, rather than be tempted by a coffee in the morning and an expensive lunch at lunchtime.

This period has been a very difficult period for all of us, being stuck at home has been difficult to entertain ourselves but at, they have been able to offer a way not just to stay entertained, but also a way to produce a profit from the comfort of their own homes.

Furthermore, another benefit when it comes to working from home for colleagues has been that work-life balance has been able to improve due to the working hours that can now be completed. Of course, all colleagues have had to ensure that all the work is completed, but offices have become more flexible with the working hours, so colleagues have been able to choose their own working hours within reason. Of course, this is highly dependent on clients wishes but is something that within reason can be up to the digression of the colleague.

And finally, colleagues haven’t had to commute to their normal workplace, so have been able to use this extra time in which they have saved by not commuting to do whatever they please. Many colleagues have been using this time productively by doing some physical activity like running or weight training, or even looking at working on their diet by improving their cooking skills.
